It’s almost midnight Montana time. The end of an unbelievable day. I could write a lot of things, but what I want most to remind myself of is this…
I know God.
That’s it.
I know God.
I know Him, and I can see Him.
I know Him, and I can trust Him.
I know Him, and He is faithful.
I know Him, and I must make Him known.
So let me share Him with you today… through the beauty of His amazing creation.
We began our day in Canada at Waterton National Park. It’s a short 2.5 hour trek from where we stayed in Montana, and it turns out that crossing the border is fairly quick and painless.
We only explored one place: Cameron Lake. I mean really. How could we pass that up? It was absolutely gorgeous, so we took a quick hike around the water’s edge. After about 1.5 miles, the trail ended rather abruptly with a significant warning sign that we were in grizzly territory and should proceed only with great caution. Despite the handy dandy can of bear spray, the warning was enough for Brad, so we turned around and headed back to our car.

We didn’t make it but a short way down the road before this…
Yes. Indeed it was grizzly territory. And this cutie was less than 10 yards from my car window! No zoom needed for these shots. Can you see the way he is cutting his eyes over at me?! He wanted to make friends. I’m certain of it.
From there, we headed back to Many Glacier which is about an hour away. I told y’all yesterday that Brad is a lover of all things maps, and he does his homework on the trails. He knew his sweetie desperately wanted to see a moose, so we went back to Swiftcurrent Pass… the 10+ mile hike we did yesterday. For the first mile or so of our hike yesterday, we could see Fisher Cap Lake off to our left. Brad commented several times that he wanted to get down to the lake, but we never could see where the main trail allowed for that. But on our trip back today, we were determined. Brad had read that Fisher Cap Lake was a great spot for moose, so we were going to the water’s edge. Trail. Or. Not.
We got off the beaten path so to speak and made our way through the wooded area, and as we approached the lake the conversation went like this:
Me: There’s something out there.
Brad: It’s probably a fish.
Me: No! It’s bigger.
Me: IT’S. A. MOOSE!!!!
I am not kidding y’all! Literally we did not even make it to the water’s edge before I spotted him out in the middle of the lake. This was my first picture. I’m surprised I could even take it because I. Was. So. Excited.
Within seconds he raised his moose antlers, and I could barely contain myself.
We watched Mr. Moose play in the lake for over an hour. He moosied… that’s kinda of like “moseyed” on over to the far edge of the lake, and we just followed him… at Brad’s very safe distance… with Brad cautioning me every 30 seconds.
Over 100 moose pictures later, we finally moved on. #mountainmiracle indeed!
Again, I could write a lot of things today, but for now it’s just this.
I know Him.
I know Him, and I must make Him known.
