That’s what I have told every single person who has asked. He is perfect. And it’s the truth. Just see for yourself.
Conway Lee Kendrick made his debut on December 4, which was the exact day his daddy and Uncle Cam said he would arrive. I was sure to remind his daddy that everything else about this precious bundle of joy would likely not be on his time schedule, but he’ll figure that out soon enough.
I am crazy in love with Conway and loved every second of the three days I stayed with him. As I laid hands on him and prayed just before I left, the tears began, and they didn’t stop the whole way home. This was way worse than leaving the grown kid who is now his daddy at A & M that August almost eight years ago.
Later that night, I wrote Conway the first of what will likely be many little notes from his Tula…
Each little finger. Each little toe.
Your finely etched eyebrows. Your tiny little nose.
The gentle rise of your chest. A little squeak from your mouth.
The way your fingers grasped mine. It left no room for doubt.
You are a miracle. An extravagant and gracious gift from above.
I’m an eyewitness to His majesty. You’re evidence of His perfect love.
So please ask me so I can tell you, too: He’s perfect… because he was created and gifted to us by a perfect God… a God who loves us more than we can comprehend… a God who sent that first baby so long ago.
As we draw closer to Christmas, I pray our eyes will not be on all that Christmas has come to be, but instead we’ll be drawn to the cradle… to be eyewitnesses to His majesty… to see evidence of His perfect love… to gasp in holy awe. A baby changes everything.
May we know Him and make Him known!
And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
{ Isaiah 6:9 }
“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”
