the Greatest Gift.

The countdown is on, and the hurry has begun. There are decorations to be displayed, meals to plan and cook, and gifts to be bought, wrapped and placed under the tree. In the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle, we often find that we’ve forgotten or simply squeezed out any room for the real meaning of Christmas.

This Advent season, I’m praying our hearts and minds would be drawn to the Greatest Gift, Jesus, and the gifts He gives us. With that prayer in mind, I set about preparing my Advent reading calendar for this year. I prepared it in two formats:

  • Daily Advent Cards: This is my favorite format, and this year I added a reflection question on the back of each card. The questions are designed so you can discuss them with family or friends or you can journal your thoughts. There are four cards per page, and they will work best if you print them double-sided (long-edge binding). Cut a 1/2″ margin on all four sides (top, bottom, left, right) first. Then cut the cards apart. They are dated, so it should be easy to get them in the correct order. You could place them on a tiny easel or hole-punch them and tie together with a pretty ribbon or use a binder ring. What a sweet gift for family, friends, and co-workers! { Note: The easels come in a 4-pack, so you’ll have some to share! }
  • One page printable: Print this one-page PDF (front and back), and it will easily tuck in your Bible. You can also download it and share via email with friends.

Better than any gifts you’ll find under the Christmas tree, here are 27 gifts from Jesus just waiting for you to unwrap in God’s Word!

Merry CHRISTmas! May you know Him and make Him known!

Love links: These links are for items in the picture above. Someone always asks about my Advent wreath. And, these make amazing Christmas gifts!
